Having often thought that somebody somewhere needs to tackle probably the biggest private challenge to Christian men in the church today, I stumble on 'A Wretch Like Me' George Verwer's brave article about lust and sexual temptation (specifically related to pornography). The transparency and honesty displayed in this article is astonishing! I have often thought that somebody needs to stand up and offer help to the many men in church congregations whose walk with God is muted and stifled because of their guilt, shame and fear. George provides a model that is practical and realistic, but also based on scripture. A radical piece of writing.

I love Verwers books for such realistic confesional writtings. In my initial years of discipleship the book "No turning back" really held me from turning back. The article "Wretch like me" will help lot of christian leaders and christians to have a realistic view of spiritual life. No true christian will intentionally go for pornography. But as Verwer points out, it some times comes in to our way when we are least expecting it. His writing encourages us to understand it as a temptation which is common to all and we should not be discouraged under it. There is always a way out of it again to a glorious life. Praise God!
